The entire exterior surface of each Metate pot features a heavy texture. This rough-hewn layer varies per pot adding dimension and authenticity. From a distance the scabrous surface is reminiscent of avocado skin, yet close-up it the texture is more similar to lava-rock. Each vintage vessel encompasses weathered finish, natural beauty, and novel history that can not be replicated. More about the color tone, texture, and terracotta make-up below.
